Archie's 1st Year
In early July 2009, Master Archie Platt made his arrival at 06:24 in the new Maternity Hospital at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire, weighing 5lb 5oz and measuring 45cm in length. After a brief stay at the hospital both Jeanette and Archie came home on Sunday evening, just in time for them to attend Archie's Granddad's 60th birthday meal at the Legs of Man !! First day home and he's in the pub, way to go Little Man. The following two weeks were spent adjusting to parenthood and visits from family and friends which meant lots of hugs kisses cuddles and cards and presents for Archie.
In August I did my first long journey in a car, we all went to Cambridge to visit Auntie Wendy, Uncle John and Cousin Amanda. I enjoyed myself, but as you can see from the photo's it got a bit much and I needed to have a nap. I also helped Nanna make some cakes that she sold at a charity football match. My milk teeth started to appear but they disappeared as quickly as they came.
Did some more travelling in September, went to visit Auntie Claire, Uncle Andrew and Saskia and Ffion over in Wrexham, Nanna and Granddad were there too. Then we went for walk by the river in Chester which was nice, I had my first taste of ice cream.
Yet more travelling, went to Granddad's caravan in Wales, It is very nice, I can see that ill have a lot of fun here when I get bigger. Also during October I started going to Baby Massage classes that are run by a very nice lady called Charlotte (www.mybabytime.co.uk), I struggled to make the end of classes most weeks because I fell asleep as I was so relaxed, but I do remember we had bubbles that lasted for ages.
I started to develop an interest in technology, I had heard about this 3D television lark so thought I better learn about it before it's taken up by CBebbies. We went to the North Pole to meet a man that wears red suits and has a furry beard which tickle the back of my head. He seemed nice and had lots of helpers.
Mummy and Daddy started to dress me up like that man I met last month.
We went to Auntie Claire and Uncle Andrew's house for Christmas, I got into the spirit of things and wore a silly paper hat and enjoyed my dinner. Cousin's Saskia and Ffion had electric cars from Santa, I have got my eye on this one though as it fits me just nice.
I was very busy in January, because of the bad weather I stayed in where it was nice and warm and enjoyed playing with the toys that Santa had sent me, I must remember to say thank you when I see him.
We had lots of parcels arriving this month, maybe something exciting is going to happen soon, Mummy and Daddy thought I might like to take up bungy jumping early, I did enjoy it but not just after my dinner though. We went to Saskia's birthday party, but it was a bit mad with lots of boys and girls running everywhere.
I started nursery in March only 1 day a week mind, don't want to rush into these things, I mentioned early that something exciting was happening well I think it took place in March because me and my family all went to a big, cold old building in our best clothes and this lady that was dressed in a white frock poured water on my head. Then we went to a hotel for some food, cake and Guinness, I had lots of presents but not really things I can play with, Mummy has explained that this was my christening, I didn't really understand what Mummy meant but it is something to do with religion.
I did a bit of work experience at daddy's work, I think I can master this computer lark. I spent some time at nanna's watching Granddad whilst he was building with blocks in the garden, I think I could be good at building with blocks when in a few years. Now its getting a bit warmer we went back to Granddads caravan which was good,
I started to learn that I can get about on my feet although I need a bit of help from whoever is about. Went to the caravan again, helped granddad eat his ice cream, then had to go to the pub to help daddy drink his beer, also went to Rhyl and rode a donkey.
Was a quiet month really, the sun came out a few times so I played at nanna's house and also had the paddling pool out in the garden as well.
I had a party, cause it was my birthday, lots of my friends came and we had food and drinks and Jayne and Vicky from Baby Sensory but loads of stuff for us to play with,
